Situated on beautifully landscaped grounds, Fruit Hill Day Services for Elderly opened its doors on October 4, 1973 as one of the first Adult Day Services in Rhode Island.
Here, at our Center, adult women and men are nurtured into leaving the confines of their home, establishing self-confidence, enhance their socialization skills, and remain independent members of the community.
At Fruit Hill Day Care Center
In the summer of 1973 Sr. Ruth Crawley (former director) heard of a new concept springing up in various parts of the country, Day Care for Elderly. After conducting a survey she found that seniors who required supervision, but not 24 hour care were being prematurely placed into nursing facilities since families had to remain in the work force.
We continue to give strength and hope to the community. Families have peace of mind in knowing that their loved ones are well cared for, happy, and safe.
